Cantavanda
Composer / Singer-Songwriter / Visual-Kei Archivist
HIYA! I’m a singer-songwriter from Ghent, Belgium with a love for flowers, tragic fantasy, and all kinds of colourful things. Rock, folk & disco with a classical aesthetic in a modern, poppy package.
Alongside my studies in classical music composition, I mainly focus on developing my own style: visual multipop, a blend of all kinds of musical influences and emotions. I try to combine ‘deep from the heart’ songwriting with the elegance of fluttering flowers.
In June 2024, I released my first single collection, Romancia, and in January 2025, my graduation project, the live album The Flower Girls Orchestra Live in Ghent, was released, containing two classical works.
I’m working very hard on my debut album, and there’s more to come on that soon!
My biggest inspirations are Nick Drake, Michael Jackson, Kurt Cobain, Liana Flores, The Garden, Mylène Farmer, and Laufey. I also have a huge love for Japanese ‘visual kei’ bands such as MALICE MIZER, LAREINE, L’Arc-en-Ciel, 黒夢 (Kuroyume) and LUNA SEA.
Other than a musician, I’m also known as being an archivist of the aforementioned Japanese ‘visual-kei’ genre. I collect these rare items already since 2012, and share a lot of its information and contents!
