Cantavanda
Composer / Singer-Songwriter / Visual-Kei Archivist
Cantavanda is a singer-songwriter with a thing for flowers, tragic beauty, and all things colourful. From the small city of Ronse in Belgium, Cantavanda creates “visual multipop”, a colorful blend of all kinds of musical influences and emotions, with soothing, catchy melodies.
Inspired by Japanese visual-kei legends like MALICE MIZER, LAREINE, L’arc~en~Ciel and LUNA SEA, as well as singer-songwriters such as Nick Drake, Laufey and Liana Flores, his music combines honest and “deep from the heart” songwriting with the elegance of fluttering flowers. Drawing from his background in classical composition at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, and a deep love for Bach and Rachmaninoff, Cantavanda bridges the worlds of pop, folk, rock, and classical music.
His 2024 single collection “Romancia” introduced listeners to his universe of visual multipop, while the live album “The Flower Girls Orchestra Live in Ghent” captured his sold-out graduation concerts at the Ghent Opera.
Now, Cantavanda is recording his debut album…
