Cantavanda
Composer / Singer-Songwriter / Visual-Kei Archivist
Hiya! I’m a singer-songwriter with a thing for flowers, tragic beauty, and all things colourful.
From the small city of Ronse in Belgium, I make ‘visual multipop’, a blend of all kinds of musical influences and emotions. My music combines honest and ‘deep from the heart’ songwriting with the elegance of fluttering flowers.
I’m really inspired by Japanese ‘visual-kei’ legends like MALICE MIZER, LAREINE, 黒夢 (Kuroyume), LUNA SEA and L’Arc-en-Ciel as well as singer-songwriters such as Nick Drake, Laufey and Liana Flores. And while also drawing from my background in classical composition at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, with a deep love for Bach and Rachmaninoff, I do my best to bridge the worlds of pop, folk, rock, and classical music.
Working hard on my debut album now!!
Other than a musician, I’m also known as being an archivist of the aforementioned Japanese ‘visual-kei’ genre. I collect these rare items already since 2012, and publicly share a lot of its information and contents!
