Blue Romance – Mini-Album

General Information:

LAREINE’s first mini-album, and also their first proper studio-recording CD release.

While this album was released just 5 months after their third demo tape, 月夜の歌劇, it doesn’t contain any songs from that tape.

It does contain one previously-released song though, a brand-new recording of the song “Féerie“, which first appeared in their second demo tape, “2ND DEMO“, released in 1995.

This mini-album has two presses, released one week apart from each other, one in december 1996, and the other one on the first day of 1997.

The 1996 press is quite valuable, and has higher manufacturing quality.

This is their first shot at the “Blue Romance” concept. Nine months later, the band would completely re-do and re-try this concept from the ground up, in their first full album “BLUE ROMANCE～優しい花達の狂奏～“, where they would re-record three songs from this mini-album, and add more songs to turn it into a full album.

The three songs of this mini-album that would be re-recorded for “BLUE ROMANCE～優しい花達の狂奏～” are “BLUE ROMANCE”, “Féerie” and “季節風” (Kisetsufuu).

This can be confusing, but “Blue Romance”, and “BLUE ROMANCE～優しい花達の狂奏～” are still considered different releases, even if they share the same concept, three songs, and have similar names.

And much later, in 1998, the intro SE of this mini-album, “葵い幻影” (Aoi genei) would be re-recorded as the outro SE of the “Métamorphose” single.

For a long time, the song “DEATH PIANO” was unique only to this album, until it got included in the “Reine de fleur I” compilation in 2003.
