Information

MALICE MIZER’s ninth single, and their third release after quitting major label Nippon Columbia, and becoming independent again under their Midi:Nette label. The second track is an instrumental version without choir.

This is the second entry in a trilogy of singles that would be included in the ‘薔薇の聖堂’ (Bara no seidou) album.

Just like the previous single in the trilogy, ‘再会の血と薔薇’ (Saikai no chi to bara) before it, there is no vocalist present in the traditional sense, as the band didn’t have a replacement for Gackt yet. Instead, the main melody is sung by a choir. On the same day as the single release, separate VHS tape released containing this song’s music video.

There is no guitar present on this song, and the bass is very silent. So during the music video and live performance of this song, the members have a role closer to performance art instead of playing their instruments.

Mana called the singing choir a light in the darkness, and this darkness is very present in this song and its music video, which is a result of Gackt’s leaving of the band and Kami’s passing.
