MALICE MIZER’s 1st mini-album, released in 1994, containing 6 tracks originally, with an extra track on the deluxe edition released later that same year.
There are four main presses of this release, and a promotional one. The 1st press of memoire released on the 24th of July, 1994, and was limited to 3000 serial-stamped copies. MALICE MIZER’s popularity was growing so fast during that time, that all 3000 copies sold out during pre-orders.
However, MM’s “Cher de memoire 1994” tour was coming up days later, so a 2nd press was made to be sold during that tour. It is not known how many were made, but it can’t be a lot, as this second press is very difficult to find. Maybe around 1000? All the contents and booklet of this second press are the same, except for the OBI and CD print which are different, and the absence of a serial number.
After the “Cher de memoire 1994” tour, MALICE MIZER got back into the studio, and recorded a final track with Tetsu, “バロック” (Baroque), and added it to the third press of memoire, “memoire DX”, where DX stands for deluxe. memoire DX is a common CD and is easy to find, as it was later heavily repressed as a 4th press during the mid-to-late 90s. The DX version contains a slipcase, and an extra photo book called the “VISUAL STORY BOOKLET”.
