Biography

Adriël Cantamessi, also known as Cantavanda, is a Belgian singer-songwriter and composer whose music blends warmth and theatrical flair with tragedy and raw emotion. Born in 1999 in Spain to two professional musicians, Cantavanda was raised in a rich musical environment that shaped his artistic path from the very beginning.

Taught music from birth and formally trained in guitar since the age of five, he later started playing piano at age thirteen. At twelve, he discovered the Japanese genre Visual-Kei, which would inspire the creation of his own style: visual multipop, a hybrid genre combining accessible pop structures with eclectic, often contrasting musical influences, and a strong emphasis on visual storytelling.

He studied classical piano at MUDA Kunstsecundair, a renowned high school for the arts, and in 2017 began a degree in classical composition at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent. There, he developed his voice as a composer, culminating in two sold-out concerts in June 2024 at Opera Ghent, where his Operette No. 3 and Piano Concerto No. 2 were premiered. The recordings of those performances were released in January 2025.

Alongside his classical work, Cantavanda has built a growing pop project rooted in his visual multipop identity. His first single “solitude” released in 2022. Shortly after, in 2023 and 2024, he released several more singles and his first single collection, “Romancia”, which was warmly received.

In June 2025, he released the acoustic live session “L’histoire en fleurs…”, revealing a more intimate and performance-centered side of him.

Currently, Cantavanda is recording his debut full-length album, set for release in the coming months.
